Yaoundé, April 2, 2026 – GIMAC celebrated a major milestone in its history today with the official handover ceremony of its Director General, Mr. Valentin MBOZO’O. Having carried the institution’s vision since June 2012, Mr. MBOZO’O has reached the end of his term, marking the conclusion of fourteen years dedicated to transforming the regional financial landscape.
Under his leadership, GIMAC underwent a profound transformation, evolving from an ambitious project into a key player in the CEMAC financial ecosystem. His leadership enabled the consolidation of the regional payment network and transformed full payment interoperability into a concrete reality for citizens of the six countries in the zone. The deployment of the GIMACPAY platform will remain one of the major pillars of his legacy, establishing the advent of inclusive and resolutely connected mobile finance in Central Africa.
The ceremony took place in the presence of department heads and prominent figures, including the Chairman of the Audit Committee, Mr. MOSOGO MBASOGO Epifanio, as well as Mr. Tcheumeni Hugues Alain, representing APEC Central African Republic. This solemn moment highlighted the solid foundations laid during this decade and the close collaboration with financial stakeholders in the sub-region.
Pending the appointment of a new Director General by the competent authorities, the interim management of the Directorate General is ensured by Mr. Guy Noël LONDONGO, Deputy Director General.
The day concluded in a convivial atmosphere during a meal bringing together all staff members. GIMAC extends its most sincere thanks to Mr. MBOZO’O for his exceptional dedication and wishes him complete fulfillment in this new chapter of his life.
